Includes microfilmed
and scanned images of local newspapers (some as early as 1883) and a number of
local history books that were completed as part of the Summer Experience Program
of the Ontario Ministry of Culture.
The digitization of many of the historic records held at the
Kenora Public Library was
begun in 2005 with funding provided by the Government of Ontario, through the
Heritage and Libraries Branch of the Ministry of Culture, and
Industry
Canada through its Community Access Program
With additional assistance of volunteers from Ancestry Seekers, and students
from local high schools, back issues of the local newspapers are currently being
copied from microfilm to a digital format. As these newspapers are digitized
they will be uploaded to this site for easy viewing. All newspapers are in .pdf
format, and will you will need Adobe
Reader to view them.
